Kayla Young, LMSW
BIPOC Trauma Therapist
I can help you to feel more confident in your decisions and yourself.
-
You wish you knew what you needed but you just don’t. A lot has been changing lately and all you know is that things aren’t working the way they used to. You’re sick of feeling anxious, unsure, and stressed.
You know you do some things that aren’t helping anything either; things like doomscrolling, comparing yourself to others, partying, or numbing out to escape. You know it but you still can’t seem to do better no matter how hard you try.
What you also know is that you want better for yourself. That’s where I can help. I can lead you on a journey of self-discovery, increased confidence, and even excitement for the future. Together we can figure out what is going on with you and we can put together a plan to improve your future.

I specialize in helping BIPOC older adolescents and adults who are struggling with confidence, low self-esteem, past trauma, and anxiety or depression. I get it because I struggled too and have dedicated my life to helping others overcome these same issues.
I also have a lot of experience helping those struggling with Traumatic Brain Injuries and psychosis as well as working with families and couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships.

I have training in CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and family interventions.
I graduated from Wayne State University with a Master of Social Work and am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Michigan. -
